Russ Mattson brings over two decades of real estate experience and a lifetime of local knowledge to Sea Glass Gulf Realty. Having first discovered Southwest Florida while vacationing on Sanibel in the 1970s, Russ made the move from the Northeast shortly thereafter and has called the area home ever since.

A longtime Pine Island resident for more than 40 years, Russ offers clients a level of insight that only comes from deep roots in the community. Before transitioning into real estate, he built and operated Mattson Marine, growing it into one of Southwest Florida’s premier boat dealerships with a team of 14 employees before successfully selling the business in 2005. This entrepreneurial background, combined with his extensive sales experience, gives Russ a unique ability to guide clients through complex transactions with confidence and clarity.

In addition to his real estate career, Russ holds a current USCG 100-Ton Master Captain’s license, further reinforcing his expertise in coastal living and waterfront properties. His lifelong passion for the water and the Pine Island lifestyle makes him an invaluable resource for buyers and sellers alike.

Outside of real estate, Russ enjoys sailboat racing, where he has achieved multiple podium finishes, as well as motorcycle racing, including earning the title of 1994 Supermono 600cc National Road Racing Champion. He is also an avid golfer and fisherman.
